San Joaquin Memorial big man, 7' 1" Robert Upshaw, had a special guest in the stands at the 30th Annual Clovis Christmas Classic Wednesday night, his future head coach.

Kansas State head coach Frank Martin watched his prized recruit as San Joaquin Memorial beat East High of Bakersfield 64-44.

Martin flew to Fresno from Hawaii, where his 10-1 Wildcats won the Diamond Head Classic.

Coach Martin is very excited that Upshaw picked Kansas State. "That was awesome because he was number one on our target - we love him - we think he's going to be a heck of a player - and he's the kind of kid we want representing our program," said Martin.

The Wildcats are ranked 25th in the nation.
