Alan Ahmady, who helped lead Fresno State to the 2008 National Championship, has been suspended for the second time in three years for violating Major League Baseball's drug policy.

Ahmady will be suspended for the first 50 games of the 2013 season without pay.

Ahmady was last suspended in 2010 for testing positive for amphetamines. He was also suspended from Fresno State at the end of the 2009 season for violating athletic department policy.

Ahmady is an outfielder/first baseman in the St. Louis Cardinals chain. He was batting .292 with 4 home runs and 46 RBI for three different teams.
