Former Bulldog Lorenzo Neal, a 16 year NFL veteran and big supporter of the Fresno State program, is not happy with the hiring process the Bulldogs used to bring DeRuyter to campus.
This is Neal during his playing days at Fresno State in the early 1990's.
Neal says a handful of coaches with local ties, including Kelly Skipper, J.D. Williams and Jethro Franklin, who all played for Fresno State, didn't even get a phone call from the school after they all said they were interested in the job.
LORENZO NEAL: if none of these men had at least an opportunity to sit down with administration at fresno state, me as a fresno bulldog alumni - i'd be very disappointed - i'd be disappointed to say that i'm a bulldog - i'm going to always love my alma mater, i'm always going to love my school - i'm always going to be a part of this community - but it's wrong.
