Bulldogs' Team Captains Named
Three days from now, Tim DeRuyter will coach his first game at Fresno State. He's already figured out who his coaches on the field will be.
Team captains were announced on Wednesday.
There are five captains for the season: Derek Carr, Robbie Rouse, Phillip Thomas, Jeremiah Toma and Andrew Shapiro.
Combined, those five guys have played in 144 games for the Bulldogs.
"We had a team vote," said DeRuyter. "I want this to be about the players. Our players voted on them and I'm very pleased with their selections."
"I'm just gonna be myself," said Carr. "I've been doing that kind of stuff since I got here. Made some of the old guys mad then but now that I am a captain, it's okay. So I'm just gonna be me."
