Should Fresno State retire No. 16?

Phillip Thomas became the Bulldogs' first-ever unanimous all-American on Friday when the last official all-America team was announced and his name was on it.

That would be the Football Writers Association of America which, like the American Football Coaches Association, Sporting News, Walter Camp Football Foundation, and the Associated Press all picked the Bulldog safety as a first-team all-American.

No other player in school history has ever been a unanimous all-American.

As we all know, Thomas leads the nation in interceptions with eight, and is tied for the national lead in total takeaways (9) and interceptions returned for touchdowns (3).

He was also a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award and earlier this week he won a trophy as the College Football Performance Awards' Defensive Back of the Year.
