Retailers Go High-Tech to Boost Black Friday

Instead of holiday treats this year… prepare for holiday "tweets”. To compete, retailers say they're turning to technology to lure in customers.

From Facebook to Twitter, more than 50% of retailers say they will use some form of technology to advertise special deals.

Just a few years ago, you would go to the paper to find the best deals for the day after Thanksgiving but with smart phones and the internet, you have everything at your fingertips.

With so much competition for your time and money, more than half of retailers say they've improved or added a presence on Twitter, in blogs and social media sites. Sears is even giving Facebook fans a chance at a $500 dollar gift card.
