Fresno City Council Member Henry T. Perea now says he has new political ambitions.
Perea tells CBS47 he will run for Juan Arambula's 31st Assembly seat, which is up for grabs next year because Arambula is being termed out.
And we're told Arambula is expected to endorse Perea, who lost his bid in November to be Fresno's next mayor.
Perea has spent the last seven years on the Fresno City Council.
Last November, Juan Arambula supported Ashley Swearengin in her run for Fresno Mayor.
