Buchanan High School student Kolbe Brennan has a pretty interesting hobby -- special effects make-up like you see in movies and TV.
Ever since he was very young, Kolbe has loved working with make-up, even if sometimes, it freaked out his mom. "I came home from kindergarten, multiple times, with bruises all over. Mom would say, 'What's wrong? Who did that to you?' I'd say, 'Mom, it's just markers.'"
From those early days with colored markers, Kolbe went on to more sophisticated silicone masks and arms, sometimes spending days making them unique.
English teacher Ed Folsom appreciates Kolbe's creative streak, and predicts big things for this very talented young man. "Probably one of the most creative students I've ever had. I firmly believe, either we'll be buying his art or watching him on Saturday Night Live at some point."
Asked if he will do this for a living when he graduates, Kolbe said, "There are a couple of studios I've worked for that would like to hire me out of high school. But I'd like to focus on college, art, illustrations. But if I could get into this, I would."
