It's our second trip Buchanan. Last time we introduced you to a student who is into doing special effects make-up.
This time we have a student who's into magic.
Jackson Hadden says he practices about one or two hours every day.
15-year-old Jackson has been hooked on magic ever since he was very young. He still remembers the first time a magician captured his imagination at a party. "Well, I saw the first magic performance. I just watched how in control he was. I saw the magician entertaining. Just the way he was able to draw everyone's attention, keep 'em entertained. For that period of time, just to have them so in his control, that concept really grasped me. I wanted to be able to do it myself," said Jackson.
Students at Buchanan, like Jackson this week, and Kolbe last week, are always encourage to nurture their creativity. Teacher Denver Stairs said, "You know, we have a great school in general. We have a good group of kids. We're excited about what's going on here, and it's fun to see a good kid get spotlighted."
Asked if he's planning on going on to be a professional magician, Jackson said, "Actually, I'm not. I want to be a cardiologist. So this is just a hobby?"
Good luck Jackson!
