This week's CBS47 Cool School is Hoover High, where the entire school gets involved in Breast Cancer Awareness.
Recently, the entire campus - trees, fences, classrooms - were all covered in pink. They call it the Hoover Pink-Out. The effort is to raise awareness of breast cancer.
Just about every student we talked with at the Hoover campus has a personal connection to this terrible disease. That's why every year the entire student body gets behind this campus-wide effort to focus attention on breast cancer.
Colorful ribbons can be found everywhere at Hoover during the Pink-Out and everyone is encouraged to wear the special pink wristbands.
Principal Lori Grace said, "I'm so proud of our student body, that they really take an interest in something that benefits our community and benefits folks in need."
Teacher and volleyball Coach, Christina Nelson said, "It's amazing how at some point or another - someone knows somebody who's been affected by it."
Congratulations to all the students and teachers at Hoover High School for their very successful Pink-Out campaign, which earned them this week's CBS47 Cool School.
