Thursday, August 30th, is the Second Annual Taco Truck Throwdown during the Fresno Grizzlies game.
It's the brainchild of local "taco guru" and Fresno Beehive columnist Mike Osegueda. Last year's event drew more than 10,000 hungry fans and helped the Grizzlies receive national recognition for the promotion.
From the team's website: "The Grizzlies wrap up their four-game series against Reno with the event of the summer: Taco Truck Throwdown 2, presented by FresnoBeehive.com, FresnoTacos.com, CBS 47 and Q97. The gates for the 7:05 pm game will open early at 5:35 pm to allow fans more time to enjoy tacos from local taco trucks and Tecate Thirstday. Fans and a panel of judges will determine this year's best taco truck during the night. As part of Tecate Thirstday, sodas are $1 all game long and 12 oz. Tecate and Tecate Lights are $1 through the end of the fifth inning."
Mike Oz, Chris Kutz of the Grizzlies and the crew from Tako BBQ stopped by CBS47 This Morning to preview the event. You can watch that here. Click on the related links to learn about about Taco Throwdown 2 and to buy tickets.
