Thank you Central Valley! The CBS47's On Your Side Collection Drive in March was a huge success!
The collection drive was held on Wednesday, March 28th to benefit homeless pets at the Valley Animal Center, a no-kill shelter.
Viewers were asked to bring donations of pet food, cat litter, pet toys and cleaning supplies for the shelter. We collected: 160 lbs of dry cat food, 1,827 cans of wet cat food, 460 lbs of dry dog food, 1,024 cans of wet dog food, 55 gallons of bleach, 103 rolls of paper towels, 9 gallons of dish soap, 20 gallons of laundry detergent, 80 lbs of powdered laundry detergent, 1,500 garbage bags, 1,525 pet toys, 31 bags of treats, 60 lbs of dog bones, 400 lbs of cat litter, 200 towels, 25 spray bottles, 10 food bowls, 3 brooms and 2 pet beds.
We were also taking monetary donations as part of their Pennies for Pets campaign, and $1,283.65 was dropped off to help them collected over $43,000 so far!
