On New Year’s Eve, 26-year old Sarah Roberts was found lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound near Dakota and Hughes.
Roberts was taken to the hospital where she was declared dead.
Her family told CBS47 she was waiting for a ride home when the shooting occurred.
Police have not released a motive for the shooting or if Roberts was targeted, but they don't believe there was any connection to the party.
No arrests have been made but several search warrants were served in the area and a gun was recovered. It’s unknown if that gun was used to shoot Roberts. Lt. Mark Salazar with the Fresno Police Department said, "We have recovered a weapon but right now that needs to be tested to see if it's even related."
If you have any information about the murder, you're asked to contact the Fresno Police Department.
A memorial fund has been set-up to help the Roberts family with funeral expenses.
You can make a donation at any Bank of America branch listed under: Kenny E. Roberts Jr. in trust of Sarah Roberts, account #0238875461.
