We got a sneak peak at the annual Fresno Police K-9 calendar.

All the money raised goes to the care for the dogs.

With the economy the way it is, budgets don't always cover everything involved in caring for the four-legged officers.

"These moneys help with getting equipment for the dogs. Oftentimes our handlers were buying the equipment for their own dogs, the leashes, collars, those types of stuff. This helps to offset that."

The calendars cost $10 each.

You can purchase a calendar at Cedar Veterinary Hospital: www.cedarvethospital.com

Elaine's Pet Resorts: www.elainesanimalinn.com

Or they can be purchased from the Fresno Police Department by emailing:
Policek9@fresno.gov

Everyone should know the K-9 Calendaroriginal/first printing was the work and brainstorm of a great Community Officer that worked out of the North West Policing Office. Don't forget Linda Sigler's contribution to this idea and it's inception. Many of the Community Officers have been dismissed from duty and their talents are a great loss to Fresno and the police department. I look forward to the day when officers like Linda Sigler are returned to the Fresno Police Department. Thank you Linda for the first K-9 Calendar!
