UPDATE:

A bank account has been set-up at Educational Employees Credit Union to accept donations to pay for funeral expenses for Brandon Moore. The account number is 11785028.

Friends and family of 16-year-old Brandon Moore, one of two victims killed in a double murder last week in northwest Fresno, are washing cars and taking donations to pay for his funeral expenses.

The car wash is happening all day Monday, December 26th at the Chevron station located at Herndon and Polk.  Moore was with his friend, 18-year-old Justin Hesketh, last Tuesday when both were shot and killed after an altercation.

“Hug your children every day.  Tell them you love them every day.  Spend as much time with them as you can because you don't know if you'll have tomorrow with them,” said Kenny Moore, father of Brandon Moore.

You can hear the pain in Moore’s voice.  He lost his son last week, but says it feels like it was just yesterday.  Family and friends raise money for the funeral by holding a car wash on Monday.  It’s going to cost about $10,000.  Moore says the holiday weekend was nearly unbearable without Brandon.

“Yesterday afternoon I spent a couple hours at the parking lot because I didn't want my son to be alone on Christmas,” said Moore.

The victim’s mother is still in shock.

“It's a lot of ok one moment, and then the next breaking down,” said Elaine Moore.

She says Brandon was selfless and a true friend.  He wanted to be a tattoo artist someday.  Her only comfort is knowing it's all part of God's plan.

“I was blessed that God allowed him to be with me for the short time I had him.  Of course I want him longer, but he's back with our heavenly father,” said his mother.

A steady stream of people stopped to get their cars washed or donate money.  One man knew Justin Hesketh, but wanted to support Brandon's family too.

The suspects are Jarrad and Jerry Beard, 18 and 15 years old respectively.
