Fresno County Schools Superintendent Larry Powell stopped by CBS47 This Morning to talk about it. He says eating breakfast is a fundamental thing we should do daily. Starting off the day with a nutritious meal can help improve learning, as well. For families in need, there are programs at Fresno Co. campuses that will provide low-cost/no-cost breakfasts to students.
Powell also talked about the GOT MILK? Billboard contest. It's open to teenagers 13-18 around California. Students are asked to submit a photo, illustrating why breakfast with milk is important for their health and academic performance. The winners get $1,000 and will be featured in a GOT MILK? billboard in their hometown.
