Light rain fell in the San Joaquin Valley Friday with only a few hundredths of an inch recorded in local rain guages by Friday evening.
Heavier rain fell in the foothills with up to half-an-inch in the Mariposa area for the same time period.
Since the air has been relatively warm, snow have been confined to elevations above 7-thousand feet Friday.
With snow levels expected to drop to 6-thousand feet by Late Saturday/early Sunday a Winter Storm Warning is in effect above 6-thousand feet through Sunday at 4 pm.
Up to three feet of snow is possible from late Friday to Sunday afternoon.
Expect around 6-thousand feet 5-10 inches of snow.
The timing of the rain will mean wet mornings both Saturday and Sunday.
The latest Pinpoint Forecast computer model predicts rain around 3 to 6 in the morning Saturday and from about 6-9 Sunday morning.
Scattered to isolated showers are possible Saturday afternoon but the air will dry out quickly by Sunday afternoon.
