Fresno's high temperature on Thursday reached 101-degrees bringing the number of consecutive days with triple-digit highs in the city to 18.
Unfortunately a small area of cool low pressure was just too small and not cool enough to break the streak of very hot highs.
With high pressure getting stronger and no real onshore wind to cool off the valley, Fresno will have another triple-digit day on Friday and maybe Saturday too.
That would make 20 days in a row at 100-degrees or above. (By the way the hottest temperature this month was 111-degrees on the 11th.)
The August hot streak has produced 10 days at 105-degrees or hotter.
Even if the we don't set a new record this will go down as one of the hottest Augusts on record.
