Get ready for a very hot weekend.

A ridge of dry, high pressure air will move into central California this weekend bringing triple-digit heat with it into the San Joaquin Valley.

Afternoon highs will be about 5 to 7-degrees above normal through Tuesday and only about 5 to 7-degrees below records.

Morning lows will only drop to the 70s in many valley locations including Fresno.

Skies will remain clear through the weekend except for the high Sierra on Sunday when monsoonal moisture will swing in from the southeast.

Mountain showers and thunderstorms are possible Sunday through Tuesday.

The valley will remain dry through the entire Pinpoint 7 Day forecast.
