Fresno will have a warm weekend with highs close to record levels on Saturday but wintery weather is just around the corner.

High pressure moved over California Thursday and Friday boosting high temperatures into the 70s.

A warm breeze from the south will boost the high temp even higher on Saturday just a degree or two below the record high temperature of 82-degrees set in 1921.

High clouds will move into the area from the southwest Saturday afternoon as a cold front drift closer to the area from the northwest.

The front will mix with the cloudy skies and bring a slight chance of light rain to the valley early Sunday morning before sunrise.

Skies will clear through the day with slightly cooler but still above normal temperatures.

The Sierra Nevada will get rain and snow showers Sunday morning as the front blows through.

The snow level will remain fairly high around 7-thousand feet.

Computer models forecast more storms next week that will bring much cooler temperatures and a better chance of heavier precipitation from Wednesday through Friday.
