After nearly two months (think back to just before Thanksgiving!), we are finally seeing a big winter storm move through.
After only a trace amount of rain Thursday, there is a 40% chance of showers on Friday, especially north of Fresno, ahead of a stronger & wetter storm system tonight. Rain moving into the valley after 8pm with up to 1.5" in the foothills and .25"-.75" in the valley. We'll see lingering showers into Saturday, a mostly dry day Sunday, and then more rain Sunday night.
There is a Winter Storm Warning in effect above 5,000' 4pm Friday - 4pm Saturday with up to three feet of snow & gusty winds. Snow levels will start out at 8,000' today then 6000' tonight. Watch out for slick roads and dangerous to impossible travel! Colder storm Sunday night will drop snow levels to 4500'. Make sure to check passes before traveling.
