Zara Arboleda
Zara Arboleda anchors CBS47 This Morning weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. with Jenny Toste and Mike Scott.
Zara is a California native, born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area…and a proud graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. (Go, Tigers!)
She started her television career as a reporter and morning anchor at KOMU in Columbia, Missouri. She headed back to California, as weekend anchor at KBAK in Bakersfield, then worked her way up Highway 99 to Fresno in 1997, where she helped launch a weekend morning newscast and eventually became anchor of a weekday noon show before joining CBS47.
Zara has won several television industry awards, including Associated Press honors for "best live news coverage" and "best anchor team", and AP’s Mark Twain award for “best newscast” three years running.
In early 2006, she debuted "Kids Do Great Things", which profiled special Valley youngsters each week... and started a weekly segment - Thursdays on CBS47 at Noon and 5, to help homeless pets find families. You can click on "The Pet Place" for more information.
Zara and her husband enjoy traveling, watching movies and going to concerts and they are the proud parents of two children. They also love spoiling their two dogs – both of them adopted from the Central California SPCA.
