If you ask Rebecca Lindstrom where she’s from, don’t be surprised if she takes a moment to think about it. Rebecca has moved more than 30 times and is more than eager to finally settle down. She’s a pro at adapting and has already made a long list of things she would like to see, do and learn in Fresno.

Rebecca graduated from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. Even before graduating she won numerous awards for co-producing an hour long documentary on domestic violence. As part of a community education effort, most of the stations in Phoenix agreed to air it at the same time New Year’s Day.

After graduation, Rebecca wanted to give back before really setting out on her career. She joined a new program at the time, Americorps, and traveled the U.S. for more than a year as a full time volunteer. She helped plant crops for a food bank in Texas so the homeless could have fresh produce and vegetables instead of canned. In New Mexico, she helped rebuild the trails to the Gila Cliff Dwellings. She even ended up working as a security guard for athletes at the Olympic Games in Atlanta.

Once she returned to TV, she moved to Missouri to anchor the morning news at KOAM. Then headed to South Carolina where she developed a new consumer and business segment for WLTX. Rebecca later returned to her documentary roots working at the PBS station for North Carolina and helped cover the state legislature with a weekly program. She hopes the investigative spirit and in-depth story telling that comes with producing documentaries will help as she now tries to uncover fraud and help viewers through CBS 47’s Investigative Unit.

In her free time, you’ll usually find Rebecca outdoors enjoying a beautiful hike with her husband or at home working in the garden. Rebecca’s parents live in China and most of her husband’s family lives in Switzerland so they are always traveling somewhere. Their international family even extends to the cat. She has two names, Macy and Fufi. One is her American name, the other her Swiss name. She doesn’t answer to either!
